The traditional workflow for the classic BENEfit® system involves inserting the BENEfit® TADs first and then building the appliance … before attaching it to the TADs via a fixation screw.

The new BENEfit® smartlock® system (incorporating the BENEfit® DIRECT system of TADs and accessories) is based on the successful and proven BENEfit® system however differs in that it utilises an appliance first workflow.  Without any additional software, the appliance (eg Hybrid Hyrax®, MARPE) can be easily prepared on the patient model within the laboratory, then inserted directly into the patient using the BENEfit® DIRECT TADs.  No additional fixation screws are required.
